LEN FASANO: I WANT TO CUT PLOWS AND SALT

Hartford, CT – Want to know what Senate Minority Leader Len Fasano wants to cut? Plows and salt. That’s right, just before this week’s storm hit, he suggested that we slash the very dollars that allow state government to get Connecticut back up and running in severe weather. It seems to be the only idea he’s put forward – and we can all agree, it’s not a good one.

Talking to NBC Connecticut, Senator Fasano said:

“We haven’t had a lot of snow, right? Maybe there’s some plow money, some snow removal money we can move over, sand that we can move over, that we’re not going to spend.”

Is this the best the GOP can do? It seems so.

“It’s remarkable. Senator Fasano thinks cutting plow, sand, and salt dollars – the very things that helped get our state back up and running after this extraordinary storm – should be slashed. So far, zero ideas have come out of the GOP, except this one – and it’s not good. Because they’re not serious,” Democratic Party Executive Director Michael Mandell said. “Cutting snow plow and salt money is the best Senator Fasano can come up with? Wow.”
