CT Dems’ Statement On Governor Malloy’s State Of The State Address
Hartford, Ct. – Connecticut Democratic Party Chairman Nick Balletto released the following statement.
“Today’s speech is a reminder of why the voters of Connecticut have elected Dan Malloy twice. He is absolutely right when he says that, in order to move our state forward, we must create a predictable and sustainable state budget and economy. And it’s not just talk. Governor Malloy has a record of making state government run more effectively and efficiently, and today he outlined three specific areas of focus to bring much-needed stability to the state budget.
“The governor also noted the progress we have made as a state. We should all be proud that – thanks to his leadership – Connecticut will remain the home of Sikorsky Aircraft and the 8,000 jobs that come with it.
“Despite Governor Malloy’s positive vision for the future of our state, however, I was shocked to see what seemed like the entire GOP caucus remain seated and refuse to applaud the governor’s call to continue our record of compassion by remaining a welcoming place for immigrants and refugees. It looks like Connecticut Republicans are truly taking their cues from Donald Trump.”
