CT Dems’ Statement On Tim Herbst’s Decision Not To Seek Re-Election

Hartford, Ct. – Connecticut Democratic Party Executive Director Michael Mandell released the following statement.
“This is no surprise. Tim Herbst has spent the past eight years bullying residents and using the office of first selectman as a political stepping stone to higher office. As his weak 2015 showing proved, Trumbull voters have learned who the real Tim Herbst is, and his standing has only worsened as people realize the full extent of how he uses his office. In short, he knows that he would not have been re-elected this year. And make no mistake, any GOP candidate running in Trumbull will own Tim’s flawed record.

“During this campaign, the voters of Connecticut will learn that Tim Herbst, like his role models Donald Trump and Chris Christie, is just a blindly ambitious bully who stops at nothing to meet his political goals.”
