One Last Time

(Hartford, Connecticut) – Today, the Connecticut Democratic Party released the following statement from Chairwoman Nancy DiNardo:

“Last night was a historic night. With strong bipartisan support, the Connecticut General Assembly passed a comprehensive gun safety protection bill (SB 1160). Still, Tom Foley, who says he wants to lead our state as Governor, has only given confusing answers when asked about his position on this critical issue.

Last night he gave a long, rambling non-answer when he was asked the question.

The man Tom Foley wants to run against, Governor Malloy, has said he will sign this bill and is doing so at noon today.

Two of the people Tom Foley may need to get past in his own party in order to run for Governor, State Senator John McKinney and State Representative Larry Cafero, both voted yes on this bill.

All of the ‘hens’ Mr. Foley has been talking about cast their votes as well.

Leadership is about taking positions on tough issues. So one last time Mr. Foley, if this bill — this bill, not something else — got to your desk, would you sign it yes or no?”
