HARTFORD, Conn. – Just days after the end of a government shutdown that placed the extreme political agenda of the Tea Party ahead of what’s good for the people of Connecticut, Mark Greenberg is still flying his Tea Party flag high.
“I share a lot of the same ideals as the Tea Party,” Greenberg told Hearst Connecticut this weekend.
“Which of their completely out-of-touch ideals does he support?” asked Connecticut Democratic Party Chair Nancy DiNardo. “Removing safety nets like Social Security and Medicare for seniors? Taking away a woman’s right to make her own medical decisions? Deregulating Wall Street so that large financial institutions can put our entire economy at risk? Or perhaps staging another government shutdown that will do more long-term economic damage to our state and country?”
