Hartford, CT — Today, Connecticut Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy DiNardo released the following statement regarding the reelection campaign of State Treasurer Denise Nappier.

“I would like to congratulate Treasurer Nappier on filing her paperwork to run for reelection in 2014. During her decade and a half of service to the people of Connecticut, Treasurer Nappier has helped generate tremendous returns on our pension fund investments and issued state bonds in a cost-effective manner.

“Treasurer Nappier was also the chief architect of the successful plan to drastically reduce the unfunded liability of the Teachers Retirement Fund.

“In addition to her role as the state’s Treasurer, she is known for her commitment to financial literacy education, and to making college more affordable and accessible through the Connecticut Higher Education Trust.”
