DiNARDO ANNOUNCES PRE-CONVENTION COMMITTEES FOR 2014 DEMOCRATIC STATE CONVENTION
Dates Announced for Regional Platform Hearings
Hartford, CT – Today, Connecticut Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy DiNardo announced the formation of the Pre-Convention Rules and Pre-Convention Platform Committees for the 2014 Democratic State Convention. This year’s convention – where Democratic candidates for the state’s six constitutional offices will be nominated for Party endorsement – will be held at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford on May 16 beginning at 4:30 PM.
Both committees are formed in accordance with Party rules, and assemble to assess the need for any amendments or revisions to current forms of the rules and Party platform, respectively. The Rules Committee will also make recommendations on the rules governing the convention itself.
“I am honored to appoint a group of dedicated Democrats from across the state for this important task,” states DiNardo. “These individuals are leaders in their communities and their commitment to the Party is steadfast. I know we will be stronger as a Party and as an organization with their involvement.”
