ON TRANSPORTATION, REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES LOSE CREDIBILITY

Hartford, CT – A report from the Hartford Courant yesterday showed that weeks of Republican attacks on Governor Malloy’s record on transportation are false.

Even though Connecticut’s transportation budget is 165% of what it was in 2010, and even though Governor Malloy has initiated one of the largest transportation capital budgets in history, the Republican candidates have claimed that “hundreds of millions of dollars” have been “raided” from the Special Transportation Fund.

The Courant report shows their claims are false.

“The Republican attacks on Governor Malloy’s record of progress continue to lose credibility. Rooting for Connecticut to fail, the Republicans refuse to acknowledge the progress our state has made under Governor Malloy’s steady leadership. Instead, they’re using misinformation to attack the administration’s record. They are simply wrong,” said Devon Puglia, Democratic Party spokesman.
