Hartford, Ct. – Connecticut Democratic Party Communications Director Leigh Appleby released the following statement in response to the GOP’s press conference.

“Yet again, Republican leaders thought they could fool residents of Connecticut. This is not a serious budget and offers a false choice – one that could lead to thousands of layoffs.

“In February, Governor Malloy acknowledged harsh fiscal realities and made tough choices to put forward a budget. But this Republican proposal is nothing short of delusional. Instead of making tough choices the Republicans put forward a plan they know is unworkable and potentially illegal so they can claim a political talking point. Connecticut residents will see this for what it is – just a political game that isn’t serious.”
