CT Dems’ Statement On End Of Legislative Session
Hartford, Ct. – Connecticut Democratic Party Chairman Nick Balletto released the following statement.
“While more work remains, it’s important to recognize that — thanks to the hard work of Democrats — we made real progress on critical areas during this legislative session. We banned the cruel and ineffective practice of anti-LGBTQ conversion therapy. We strengthened penalties for hate crimes. We passed commonsense bail reform to ensure that people are no longer incarcerated just because they are poor. And the legislature passed a constitutional amendment creating a transportation lockbox to pave the way toward a brighter transportation — and economic — future.
“With Donald Trump proposing a backwards agenda that would cause real harm to Connecticut families, it is clear that we need to elect Democrats to fight for our values as a state.”
