CTDems Party Chair Nancy Wyman Statement on the United Auto Workers’ (UAW) Strike Against GM

Hartford, CT– Connecticut Democratic Party Chair Nancy Wyman released the following statement:

“As week two of the UAW strike against GM begins, we urge GM to negotiate a fair agreement with workers. GM’s cynical move to stop paying striker health benefits is not just cruel, but ironic. The reason all employees—union and non-union—have health insurance is because the unions first negotiated the benefit during WW2. Union solidarity has made for safer, healthier and more productive workplaces that benefit everyone. Connecticut Democrats stand with the UAW in this fight.”
