Early Voting Amendment

Connecticut is one of only four states that do not offer early voting. Voters can change this by saying YES to the question on CT ballots this year.

Why Vote Yes?

VOTER FLEXIBILITY: Busy schedules and family commitments often prevent people from getting to the polls on Election Day. Working parents, care givers, commuters, and others should be able to vote by voting early.

MODERNIZING OUR ELECTIONS: Connecticut is behind the rest of the nation. We’re one of only four states that doesn’t give voters the freedom to vote in the days leading up to Election Day.

SECURE VOTING: Nationwide, millions of voters cast their ballots early by voting in the days leading up to Election Day. These votes are securely recorded and counted, just like those who choose to cast their vote on Election Day.

REDUCING WAIT TIMES: No one likes long lines and delays at the polls on Election Day. Early voting ensures that the number of people voting on Election Day is more manageable.
