Queen of Extreme Conservatism, Ann Coulter, Endorses Tom Foley for Governor

Hartford, CT – One of the nation’s most polarizing political figures, Ann Coulter, endorsed Tom Foley for Governor this week.  The Connecticut Democratic Party would like to know if Tom Foley accepts Coulter’s endorsement and if he plans to ask for her help on the campaign trail.  Does Tom Foley agree with Coulter’s offensive and hateful comments?

Just a sampling of Ann Coulter’s extreme statements:

“If we took away women’s right to vote, we’d never have to worry about another Democrat president. It’s kind of a pipe dream, it’s a personal fantasy of mine, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women.” [New York Observer, 10/2/07]

“These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by griefparrazies. I have never seen people enjoying their husband’s deaths so much.” -on 9/11 widows who have been critical of the Bush administration [ABC News, 6/7/06]

“The conservative commentator said this week that the nation would be better off if all Americans were Christian and that she wants ‘Jews to be perfected, as they say.'” [CBS News, 10/11/07]

“The swing voters—I like to refer to them as the idiot voters because they don’t have set philosophical principles. You’re either a liberal or you’re a conservative if you have an IQ above a toaster.”[Beyond the News, Fox News Channel, 6/4/00]

“Connecticut needs to know if Tom Foley is accepting the endorsement of the Queen of Extreme Conservatism, and if Mr. Foley agrees with Ann Coulter’s offensive and hateful beliefs,” said Nancy DiNardo, Connecticut Democratic Party Chairwoman.  “Mr. Foley has his own record of dangerous and offensive behavior, but is he going to embrace the most extreme wing of his party by accepting Ann Coulter’s endorsement?  Is Mr. Foley going to ask Ann Coulter to campaign on his behalf?”
