Visconti leads anti-budget phone campaign, screws it up
Former Tea Party gubernatorial candidate Joe Visconti is the ringleader behind right-wing calls to the Governor’s office and legislative Democrats. In a video posted to YouTube today, Visconti taped – potentially illegally – calls with both the Office of the Governor and Senate Democrats.
“Joe Visconti – you know, the guy who rode his horse to the Governor’s Residence to protest gun control legislation and released a campaign ad featuring him carrying a concealed handgun – and his faction of extreme right-wing Republicans are behind the phone call campaign to derail a transformational budget that makes historic investments in Connecticut’s transportation system. It’s not surprising that Visconti, who dropped out of the Governor’s race just three days before the election in a publicity stunt, would lead the charge against common sense.” – Connecticut Democratic Party spokesman Leigh Appleby
Visconti is reported to be considering a run for U.S. Senate in 2016.
