Hartford, Ct. – Connecticut Democratic Party Chairman Nick Balletto released the following statement on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day:

“Martin Luther King, Jr. embodied the values for which Democrats fight: Social justice, equality, and a compassionate society. At a time of political and social division in our nation, Dr. King’s message of love and unity is as important as ever. At a time when the right to vote is under attack from some, we must stand together to make it easier – not harder – for all citizens to make their voices heard. That is what our elected leaders in Connecticut are fighting for, and we hope that others around the nation will join that cause. I hope that his words and his actions can inspire all of us – on both sides of the political aisle – to work toward a more just world.”
