Hartford, Ct. – Connecticut Democratic Party Executive Director Alynn Woischke released the following statement in response to the announcement that failed presidential candidate Carly Fiorina will headline the Connecticut Republican Party’s Prescott Bush Dinner.

“In case you’re looking for more proof that under J.R. Romano the Connecticut Republican Party has become an extreme right wing organization, look no further than their embrace of Carly Fiorina as the guest of honor at their biggest annual event. Fiorina ran her failed presidential campaign on a platform of lies and deceit. She consistently attacked women’s reproductive rights, promising to defund Planned Parenthood and overturn Roe v. Wade. And to top it all off, her business experience – the centerpiece of her candidacy – was a colossal failure. She was ranked as one of the worst American CEOs of all time.

“Connecticut can do better than Carly Fiorina and her right-wing agenda, and the state GOP’s open embrace of Fiorina and her former rivals Donald Trump and Ted Cruz will further alienate sensible Connecticut voters this November.”
