CT Dems’ Statement On Special Elections
Hartford, Ct. – Connecticut Democratic Party Chairman Nick Balletto released the following statement.
“Tonight’s election results show just how fired up Connecticut Democrats are. In a deep-red district that Republicans carried by 35 points in 2016, Democrats organized, got out the vote, and made it a competitive race. While Greg Cava came up short, make no mistake: Democrats across Connecticut are sickened by Donald Trump’s attacks on our values and are ready to get to work on 2017 and 2018 elections. With the influx of activism across our state at rallies and meetings, the Connecticut Democratic Party is demonstrating that we will continue to harness that energy into electoral contests and into holding legislators and GOP elected officials responsible for their silence in the face of Trump’s backwards agenda.
“I want to congratulate Democratic Senator-elect Doug McCrory and Representative-elect Dorinda Borer on their strong campaigns. I am fully confident that they will represent their communities well.”
