Democrats Support March for Our Lives While Republicans Stay Silent
Hartford, CT – Tens of thousands of students, parents, teachers, and supporters of commonsense gun legislation rallied and marched around the country, including nearly 10,000 in Connecticut’s capital. Democratic candidates and elected officials are supporting the students who organized and marched against the NRA and for measures to keep them safe.
What did Republicans have to say?
“People are speaking out and we expect our leaders to take a stand on issues that matter to our children and families,” said Connecticut State Party Chair Nick Balletto. “And whether it’s guns, women’s rights, or issues of equality, Republicans will continue to dodge responsibility and lobby to special interests. Democratic candidates are standing up and speaking out on behalf of students, and where are Republicans? Maybe they’re hiding at Mar-a-Lago with Trump.”
