Do the Numbers Add Up for Boughton
Hartford, CT – News today showed that Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Boughton may be ahead in a new online poll…the question is…
Is that because he’s out talking about a bogus plan to eliminate the income tax? Maybe.
But what we do know for sure is that Boughton’s tax promises are being called out for exactly what they are: completely and utterly divorced from reality.
- The Day called Boughton’s plan “fantasy.”
- The CT Mirror said his plan would “significantly worsen an already daunting deficit”
- The AP noted that Republicans have made this promise since 1992…and have failed to deliver.
We know that the GOP in Washington makes promises that are made up…and Boughton appears to be doing the same with his promises.
“Just like the President, Mark Boughton likes to claim ‘fake news’ when he doesn’t like the facts. Well, the fact is that this plan is completely made up. It’s totally bogus,” said Connecticut Democratic Party spokesperson Christina Polizzi. “These promises aren’t just pie-in-the-sky. They are flat-out falsehoods.”
