Hartford, CT – Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin released the following statement on Bob Stefanowski’s income tax plan that would raise property taxes, slash services, and drive a $10 billion hole in the budget:

“With his promise to eliminate the income tax — half of Connecticut’s revenue — Bob Stefanowski is selling a truly bleak vision for Connecticut. Forget about vibrant communities, modern infrastructure, or strong schools, Stefanowski would decimate school funding, let roads and bridges decay, cripple services for seniors and the most vulnerable — and still leave Connecticut with a fiscal crisis. Connecticut would face a catastrophe if we buy into the delusional, right-wing economics that Bob is building his campaign on.  Of course, Bob knows it’s both irresponsible and impossible to eliminate the income tax, but he’s taking a page out of the Trump playbook and selling voters any fantasy he thinks they want to hear.”
